Don’t Throw It Away: Rehome Your Cake Topper in a Shadow Box

You know that moment after the party… cake’s gone, decorations are coming down, and your topper is just sitting there looking too good to bin?

Yeah, same.

Good news — your cake topper doesn’t have to be a one-day thing. Turning it into a shadow box keepsake is one of the easiest (and cutest) ways to give it a second life.

Why it’s actually worth keeping

Cake toppers aren’t just “decor” — they usually have:
• A name or age
• A theme your kid (or you 😌) loved
• A whole lot of effort behind the design

So instead of tossing it… You’re basically turning it into a little time capsule.

What you’ll need

Nothing fancy here:
• A shadow box frame (Kmart does great cheap ones, so does IKEA)
• Your cake topper (obviously)
• Glue dots or double-sided tape
• Optional extras: photos, invites, ribbons, confetti

Aliexpress also has some really colourful perspex frames HERE.
For our standard toppers, you will need a frame that is no smaller than 18x18cm
For our Deluxe XL toppers, you will need an A4 - but a 30x30cm is totally fine too.

How to style it (the fun part)

1. Clean it up first
Gently wipe off any frosting or crumbs — especially around layered pieces.

2. Pick your background (Optional)
Keep it simple or match the vibe:
• Pastel cardstock
• Glitter card
• Even the wrapping paper from the party

3. Stick it down
Double sided foam tape works well, or good-quality masking tape doubled over.

5. Close it up + display
Now you've got a cute 3D layered shadow box for your childs room (or yours).

Real talk

Some of our toppers are too nice to live one life only, and our customers spend up to $45 depending on how intricate the design is.

Rehoming them into a shadow box =
✔ Less waste
✔ More memories
✔ And honestly… it just looks really good
